Estudia is run by David Goulding and Cath Taylor, based in Stourbridge and Stratford-upon-Avon respectively, who met while undertaking a post-graduate course in 2002.

We were both mature students who had experienced a long absence from the academic world, but who gained great satisfaction from working with the group of students that made up our course, reflecting a real diversity of ages, nationalities and backgrounds.

imgHaving both successfully completed the course, and taking on board the views of many other students, we came to the conclusion that some form of support website for students of all ages might be a much needed service. And eventually, the germ of an idea, which began as a conversation in the pub one lunchtime (where we’ve since had many of our best ideas!), grew into the Estudia community of students.

As well as our individual experience as students, we both have significant relevant experience from the non-academic world. David is a lawyer and business adviser and has helped many clients resolve a range of problems and development needs. He is well versed in the ways to overcome the obstacles that many of us face in everyday life in dealing with big organizations – and the world of education is no different in that respect!

Cath has extensive experience in commercial management, and particularly in Human Resources management (including recruitment, learning and development, and employee relations). In the last few years she has carried out personal coaching/consultancy with a range of clients from the academic world.

So, the support and assistance we can offer you, through Estudia, is based on what we have gained from our own experiences and from those of other students, mature or otherwise. We hope we can offer you the right support, advice and assistance to help you make the best of your own learning situation.
